After a dictatorial decree, all comic speech has been banned and comedians branded in an attempt to secure power. In a ramshackle theatre, a group of intrepid performers stage a new rebellion: using their physicality, subtitles, projections, sound effects, overdub, recorded lines, audio description and the audience themselves to create laughter.
Focusing on the importance of communication, the dangers of censorship and the universal appeal of comedy, this criminally good sketch show received glowing reviews across its three runs.
Silent throughout, no words are uttered by the actors on stage, using only their physicality to create comedy on stage, alongside an inventive multimedia presence, to prove that there is more to comedy than words.
The production prided itself as an accessible show, collaborating with the Relaxed Theatre Company to hold “relaxed performances”, altering the show accordingly.
